What is engagement?

Engagement is any interaction we may have ​with our people; this includes broadcast ​communication, face-to-face conversations, ​meetings, surveys, emails, events, etc.


Each interaction either makes or breaks trust, ​and the sum of these interactions establishes ​the type and quality of our relationships.

Traditionally, engagement planning has ​focused solely on what we are delivering to ​reach our objectives. Building trust and ​influence requires an equally strong focus on ​the why and how we are engaging with ​stakeholders.
